HDA were asked to provide a tour of Edenbrook Country Park for Natural England's Chief Executive Officer, Dr Helen Phillips. Edenbrook Country Park is regarded by Natural England as an exemplary use of Suitable Alternative Natural Greenspace (SANGs) to off-set impacts of recreation on the Thames Basin Heaths SPA.
Dr Phillips was impressed by HDA's design of the country park, and its considerable benefit to wildlife and the wider local community. The visit also provided HDA with an opportunity to express the difficulties faced by developers when trying to mitigate impacts of development in the vicinity of protected sites.
