HDA has recently overseen the construction of a dedicated bat roost building. The structure provides replacement bat roosting habitat at a site in Surrey where brickworks containing existing roosts are due to be demolished. The building contains an underground hibernacula to provide habitat for bats during the winter, and an above ground section designed to provide suitable habitat for summer maternity roosts.
HDA is also currently overseeing the translocation of Great Crested Newts at the site which is identified for potential brownfield development.
